China is now the second largest economy in the world

China has now overtaken Japan and is the second largest economy after the USA.  If growth continues at the current rate, China is expected to overtake the USA in another 20 years to become the world’s largest economy.

South American economies on the mend from the recession

South American countries are emerging faster and stronger from the global recession than the United States and most European countries who are fretting over massive deficits and flimsy recoveries.  It is primarily fuelled by a huge demand in Asia for iron ore, tin and gold from the region.  The World Bank forecast indicates that Latin America’s economy will grow 4.5 percent this year. Sarkozy threatens to pull France out of the Euro

With the massive deal to provide finance to Greece under negotiation, it is suggested that President Sarkozy of France threatened to pull France out of the EuroZone if Germany did not agree to the terms of the financial package.
